As happy as I am that spring has sprung, and summer is within grasp, I cant help but be slightly wistful at the fact that I must push my fur, and dark colours to the back of the closet, at least for a few months.
I LOVE that a fur statement piece can make even the most boring, drab outfit, fab. Like I’ve previously mentioned, I try and not break the bank on fun, extra pieces like this burnt orange cropped faux-fur jacket I’m wearing in this look.
I also finally incorporated the fishnet trend into my look! I wasn’t sure if I could “pull this off”, but then reminded myself – I hate when people say this! You and I can both “pull off” whatever the heck we want. So I went for it! II also listed a few other ways you can incorporated fishnets into your outfit, as well as listed the rest of this look’s details at the bottom of the page.
Show em’ Off A Little, Show em’ Off a Lot…5 Ways to Rock the Fishnet Trend
Layered underneath some distressed denim. This seems to be the most popular way and I just ordered some distressed, black boyfriend jeans for this exact reason.
Pulling them above the waistline of your jeans, with a crop top. I paired mine with a long sleeve black, knit, cropped sweater, with high-waist back jeans, so you could just see a tiny peek of skin… and that net!
Black fishnets are the norm, but I have seen some white ones around and they look awesome… if you’re a little more daring. 🙂
Rock a distressed pair with a feminine, floral sundress. I love the juxtaposition of the bad-ass rocker chic vibe and sweet, summer style.
Just want to dip your toe in the trend? Wear the tights under jeans or pants, with a mule shoe, or sandal. Your fishnet-covered feet will be sure to attract a couple second looks!
The best thing about the fishnet trend? You can incorporate them into your wardrobe for under $10. I got mine from Winners for $8, so they are an easy way to add a splash of vogue without hurting your budget.
