frozen tundra & tulle.

We are buried under snow and trapped inside with freezing cold temps again in Calgary, but that doesn’t mean we can’t still look cute under our parkas, gloves, mitts, and Uggs, riiiight?

Kind of wrong. During the winter I have the hardest time pulling myself together in the morning! One of my goals in the coming months is outfit planning my week, in a serious effort to combat my current M.O. of pulling on the comfiest, warmest (and thus, least cute) sweater, and some kind of leather legging.

Anyways, I was freezing my butt of this cute, but it was worth it. Happy weekend, friends!

THE DETAILS (Click for website link!)

Cream Tulle Skirt: Forever 21, $30

Chambray Shirt: Aritzia, $95

Necklace: Stella and Dot, (similar), $138

A staple, I am obsessed with this chambray Talula shirt from Aritizia. Super comfy and easy to dress up or down.
I took a leap of faith for this skirt – it was on sale on the Forever 21 website for $15, and I just wasn’t sure. I had recently purchased a black tulle skirt that I had been over-wearing, at a much steeper price (around $150). I was so pleasantly surprised! The $15 skirt was of comparable quality to the more expensive skirt, proving that spending more isn’t always necessary.
This statement collar necklace is an old piece, by Stella and Dot. Although chokers are having a moment, I love the way a collar necklace can dress up a simple top.
These shoes (which we didnt get a good shot of) were a thrift store find from one of my work friends! She brought them in for me because they didnt fit her, and she knew I would give them the love and respect they deserved.. hahaha.

  1. Cute skirt! Freezing, but optimistic, photo shoot 😉 While I must carefully select my size from Forever 21, I never fail to find something adorable (and affordable) when I visit said store. I SO wish we had one in Kelowna. Here’s to spring and the fun fashion that sweet season brings. Have a good weekend, Morgan!
