Accessory Goals

GUYS I FINALLY BIT THE BULLET AND GOOGLED IT – Chokers are OVER and my heart is broken. My gut was telling me that I needed to let go months ago, but I pushed forward and continued wearing them until I literally couldn’t do so anymore, without facing the truth.

But you know what? I still love chokers, and will continue to wear them, pride intact, as per my last blog post (Fashion Rules That Can GTFO). I really believe that we should wear what we wanna wear, and laugh in the face of trends, so I will practice what I preach and rock my uncool chokers with my head held high.

Anyways, the real point of this post is details. Not my strong suit, by any means, but something I would like to focus on incorporating more in my looks going forward.

My Accessory Wish-List

Chandelier earrings  – Seeing chandelier and statement earrings all over the runways for Spring/Summer 2018 is the one thing that is cushioning my choker-losing-blow. I love anything extra, and statement earrings are a super easy way to edge-up even the most simple of outfits. Pair a bad-ass pair with a bodysuit and jeans and you are set. Bauble Bar is one of my favourite places to get statement pieces.

Fishnets – I’m still loving incorporating fishnets into my looks, and fishnet socks (as seen in this look) are one of my new faves. Pick up a 3 pack for just $5 here.

Patterned bags –  I just ordered this floral print crossbody bag from Zara for just $20. It is an easy way to dip your toe in the patterned bag trend without getting toooooo crazy (not that Im against that, by any means).

Plastic fantastic – I was all about the Lucite last year, and my obsession has continued on into 2018. There is something sexy about transparency – in both life and fashion( but that’s a whole other blog post) These clear heels from Steve Madden will make your legs look miles long. #SignMeUp

Small sunglasses – Guys, we cant deny it. They are back. And as much as I want to continue on with my bug eyes of 2006, I know it is time for change. As scary as it is, I was easily converted by these pink QuayxKylie.

Wide brimmed hats – In a landscape littered with newsboy hats and wool berets, I am happy to report that there is still an appetite for wide-brimmed hats in winter/spring 2018. Still my fave way to cover up my greasy -ass hair on day 5…. I got the one I’m wearing in this look from the Gap, and it’s on sale now for only $23!
